lyrics

Well you may say I'm old-fashioned, and you might call me a fool,
Cause I still believe the Bible is God's word, and it's all true.
The way my parents raised me, has kept me away from harm,
Cause mama stood on the rock of ages as she held me in her arms.

CHORUS
I was raised on the rock, didn't set my feet on shifting sand.
Mama taught me right and wrong from the Bible in her hand.
Now I'm part of the flock, and we're following Jesus to gloryland,
Ain't no stumbling stone to me, I was raised on the rock.

Now my mom's a grandma, I've got children of my own,
But her old familiar teachings, are still studied in our home.
When I need assistance, I still use mama's way,
I just open up the Bible and see what Jesus has to say.

CHORUS 2X

Ain't no stumbling stone to me, I was raised on the rock.
Ain't no stumbling stone to me, I was raised on the rock.
