I Stand 04:36
CHORUS I stand by the strength of Jesus, I walk just holding his hand. With Him by my side, every need is supplied By the power of God I stand. I know how it feels to lay by the road, While the rest of the world goes by, I know how it feels to be helpless and scared, Left without one ounce of pride. And I know how it feels when God reaches down, And with his touch lifts my burden away. I've been down it's true, but I'm living proof, That God still works today. CHORUS I know what it's like, to cry out in fear, "O Lord, why this, why me?" I know what it's like when all I can hear, Is the silence of my misery. And I know what it's like when that whisper breaks thru, And He says, "Child, I've been here all along. I know now you're weak, but come, lean on me, And with my strength I'll make you strong." CHORUS

I love to read my Bible 'bout those mighty men of old, Who fought the fight courageous with hearts faithful and bold. I'm glad that they were able, but looking back I see, That God was more impressed with their availability. CHORUS 1 Noah was there when water started and everything turned to blue. Moses was there when water parted and the Israelites walked on thru. Joshua was there when the shout went up and the walls fell in the dirt. They were all mighty men but when the miracles begin, It's God who does the work. Now I have seen some miracles in my life no doubt, My ship was going under but the Lord, He pulled me out. I know it's not because of who I am or what I've done, Except the day I took my life and gave it to his son. CHORUS 2 Daniel was there in the lion's den, when those cats forgot to chew. Elijah was there when God started cooking up a Baal Bar-B-Q. David was there, slinging stones, Goliath hit the dirt. They were all mighty men but when the miracles begin, It's God who does the work. INSTRUMENTAL CHORUS 1 Miracles begin, God does the work.

Janet & Joe 05:38
Every evening when dinner is done, And the crickets are playing a tune, You'll find Joe and Janet out front on the porch, Just rocking and watching the moon. They talk of the weather, they talk of the kids, They talk of the blessings they've known, They've walked through some valleys, but through all of this, Their love for each other has grown. Janet can picture that first little house, With the front porch that Joe built by hand, They skimped and they saved the down payment they made, On a good piece of flat fertile land. They never got wealthy but neither one cared, 'Cause they always had love and the Lord, There are some treasures with value so high, Only the heart can afford. CHORUS 1 Out in the barn Joe built three rocking chairs, Lined 'em up on the porch in a row. One for his misses, and one for himself, And one for a friend of them both. The seasons strolled by 'til one hot August night, When Joseph was rocking alone, The doctor and Janet were hidden inside, And he'd cringe at each sign and groan. He prayed as he rocked, and his heart nearly stopped At the sound of a high, fearful cry. It's been years since then but Joe still recalls when, He rocked his new son the first time. CHORUS 2 All through the years there've been three rocking chairs, Lined up on the porch in a row. The town folk all wondered about that third chair, And the guest who never did show. INSTRUMENTAL Now Joseph, he reads from the Bible each night, 'Cause Janet, her eyes have grown dim, His rocking chair squeaks with each line he speaks, As she softly hums an old hymn. And as Joseph prays, the empty chair sways, Like someone is sitting there too, Their joy is complete for they know the peace, Of a love that is faithful and true. CHORUS 2 But Joseph and Janet remember the day, That they exchanged rings and a kiss, The words of the preacher stuck in their hearts, They'd always need God in their midst. So that old rocking chair has been full all along, Though the neighbors, they never did know, At times it's been rough, but the years have been good, For Jesus, Janet and Joe. If you ask their secret, they'll just smile and say, Two cannot make it alone. At times it's been rough, but the years have been good, For Jesus, Janet and Joe.

Look Up 03:21
Today the bookstore shelves are just about to overflow, With the latest self-help guide from some smart so and so. I have my own philosophy, it's the best I've found, When you're feeling down, look up. CHORUS 1 Look up Matthew 6:33 to help put first things first, Look up James 1 verse 2 & 3 when life can't get much worse. Look up Psalm 103 verse 12, if sin has got you bound, When you're feeling down, look up. I don't mean to be negative, but I positively know, Some of these so-called teachers are just out to make some dough. I don't need a better book, the good book's still around, When I'm feeling down, I look up. CHORUS 2 I Look up John 16:33 for where my true hope lies, I Look up Isaiah 25 verse 8 each time I cry. Look up 1 Peter 5 verse 4, someday we'll wear a crown, When you're feeling down, look up. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." - Matthew 6:33 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." - James 1:2-3 "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." - Psalm 103:12 "And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away." - 1Peter 5:4 "He will swallow up death forever, And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces" - Isaiah 25:8 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." - John 16:33 CHORUS 3 Look up your soul's salvation, in Romans 10 verse 9, Look up how much God loves you it's John 3:16 time. There's power in these pages and it can be yours now. If you're feeling down, look up. When you're feeling down, look up.

I remember well the moment when we first met, And that night you said you'd love me ever more. How you used to long to be around me, Oh, how I'd love to feel your love once more. As the years went by I felt the distance grow, Though I was always there to hold you when you'd cry. There's a scene that's burned deep in my memory, The day you left and didn't say goodbye. CHORUS 1 Oh I stood with open arms, I pleaded and I begged, But I watched you turn your back and simply walk away. I promised you a love that never fails, But you chose for us to part, that day you broke my heart, And it hurt more than the nails. I guess you've never understood how deep my love for you, Though it's written in the scars upon my face. I saw that you could never pay sin's awful price, So on the hill of death I took your place. I stretched out on a cross that was made for you, And for your love I suffered all that pain. With my dying breath I said, "I love you." Oh, please don't say I did it all in vain. Oh, I hung with open arms nailed to that rugged tree, And I watched you bow your head and turn your back on me... INSTRUMENTAL CHORUS 2 Now I stand with open arms, I'm pleading desperately, For you to change your mind and come back home to me. I promise you my love never fails, But to spend eternity, without you here with me, That would hurt more than the nails.
6.
I woke up this morning with one thought on my mind, When my life is over what will I leave behind? Fortune and fame won't follow me, all I will take to eternity, Are the lives that I touch, so now while there's still time. CHORUS I'm gonna tell somebody about Jesus today, Show them He's the only truth, the life and the way. Lord please guide my feet and give me right words to say, I'm gonna tell somebody about Jesus today. For years I have struggled with timidness and fear, Afraid to share Jesus with those I hold so dear. Right now I can feel an urgency, for those I that want to go with me, For to meet them there, they must meet Him here. CHORUS I want to tell somebody, I need to tell somebody, I've got to tell somebody, CHORUS I want to tell somebody, I've got to tell somebody, I'm gonna tell somebody about Jesus today.
7.
Life is a race and we all must choose, To walk or to run, to win or to lose. There are stones in my path, but my eye's on the goal, And I'm under his care, so it's under control. CHORUS I'll run with conviction, determined to see, My Lord at the finish, with his arms stretched to me. I may stumble and fall, but I'll get up again, 'Cause this race that I'm running, I'm running to win. Sometimes the pace, is hard to take, The hills are so steep, and this old body aches. But just when I think, that I can't go on, I hear Jesus say, "Child, you're almost home." CHORUS No I'm not giving up, and I'm not giving in, This race that I'm running, I'm running to win, running to win.
8.
The battle line was drawn with a rugged cross upon, That old Golgotha hill. Satan swung his sword, tore the body of the Lord, 'til He hung limp and still. Then they laid him in the ground and started in the count, But only got to three. God dealt the winning blow when He rolled away the stone, Now Death where is your sting? CHORUS Sticks and stones may break my bones But they're no match for God. He alone stepped from His throne Onto this earthly sod. Satan beamed with pride when God was crucified, But his laughing turned to groans, 'Cause crosses and graves to the Ancient of Days, Are only sticks and stones. Satan comes to me with a smile of victory, And says I don't stand a chance. He reminds me of my sin, every time I've given in To his deceiving dance. Then I point him to a hill and a tomb that's empty still, and he hangs his head in shame, 'Cause he knows that I have won by the power of the Son, When I call upon that name. CHORUS Sticks and stones, that's all they were to Him, God alone, the only sacrifice for the price of my sin. INSTRUMENTAL CHORUS
9.
For many years I've traveled down this path you set for me, And I can't say that I've loved every turn. The valleys have been lowly and the mountains oh so steep, But every one's a lesson I have learned. Now my path has ended at a canyon in my way, And it's too far to see the other side. My mind is full of questions, my heart is full of hurt, But I'm too tired to even wonder why. CHORUS I don't want to know why you think this valley is just what I need, I don't want to know where this winding road I'm on will one day lead, Or who was right and who was wrong, and who the blame goes to, I don't want to know, why or where or who, Lord I want to know you. As I look across this valley, I can see I'm not alone, There are others who are struggling through it too. Some will reach the mountain and climb into the sun, And some will fall before they make it through. I have found that victory is not waiting at the peak, It's found with each decision to go on. The voices of the travelers, each singing their own tune, Join together in a common song. CHORUS All I want to know, Lord I want to know you. Because You are I AM, And I am because You are. All my life is in your hands, Please come heal my hurting heart.
10.
A crying woman on the edge of town, With a crowd leading her away. It's been a while, but she's walked this road before, The day she laid her husband in the grave. She thinks "Life is cruel, and I can't take much more, 'Cause I'm just flesh and bone. Now my only son has gone to join his father, And they have left me all alone." Then a stranger steps out of the crowd, He says, "Young man I say to you arise." And a broken hearted mama has her greatest prayer fulfilled, There are more than tears of sorrow in her eyes, as He says... CHORUS You're not alone, you never have to be Alone, you can always call on me. When the storms of life chill you to the bone, Just remember, you're not alone. A lonely woman on a hot summer day, Goes to draw some water from the well. Deep in her heart she'd like to run away, 'Cause her life has been an awful tale to tell. She's had five husbands, and each broke her heart, And left her to wallow in her shame. The man that she loves now, she knows he's not the one, He won't even let her share his name. There's a stranger, by the side of the well, One look and her fears fall away. He gives her water that fills her emptiness, And she cries out when she hears Him say... CHORUS Years have passed and the times have changed, But hurting hearts still cry out in pain. Those who listen with their souls and not their ears, Still hear a voice that's been calling through the years. CHORUS 2x
